PART V - THE MAJOR ISSUES
Nutrition
Why a whole topic on nutrition? Nutrition is a critical element in determining who we are and how we relate to others. It affects how we look and feel, and our mental and physical health. In large measure, the old cliche “You are what you eat” is true.
If someone looks and feels good, they tend to relate well to others. They tend to be happier, more energetic, more tolerant, and able to deal with life’s problems more easily.
If you or your spouse is experiencing depression, tension, irritability, anxiety, or listlessness, a poor diet or some nutritional deficiency may be to blame.
The solution may be as simple as going back to the basics and eating a healthy, well-balanced diet, including complex carbohydrates and lean protein, while restricting saturated fats, alcohol, caffeine, and sugar. However, nutrition is a complex issue and beyond the scope of this web site.
There is a wealth of nutrition information on the internet, some of it good and some of it questionable. You need to apply sound practical judgment to this information and make your own decisions.
