Family

The number one influencer of the way we see the world has traditionally been, and should be, family. 

As children, our most impressionable time, our lives should revolve around our parents and extended family. We look up to them and assimilate their values and views. Hopefully, we learn about love by the way they treat us and each other. 

Unfortunately, many parents and family situations are dysfunctional (e.g. alcoholism; physical, verbal, and/or sexual abuse; etc.), and the children follow suit, creating a self-propagating cycle of bad marriages and confused children.
